Concrete Console Table
What is a Concrete Console Table?
Concrete console table is a narrow piece of furniture, sometimes designed with style and functionality in mind, sometimes just some random style. Its narrow and long shape makes it perfect for occupying entryways, corridors, spaces behind sofas, or any empty wall space, without significantly compromising movement in those areas.
What makes concrete consoles special, more practical than the console tables made from wood or metal, is their durability and placement flexibility. They can perfectly serve their purpose inside the house as well as outside, on a patio, deck, garden, etc. Properly sealed concrete console’s surface can withstand harsh weather conditions and serve its owner year after year with minimal maintenance.
Concrete Console Designs and Shapes
Making a console table from concrete, besides its durability, has another advantage. The only shape and size limitations comes from the mold, so if it is possible to build a mold with certain profile and dimension, the concrete console table of your dreams can be created.
Whether you need a rectangular, curved, or angled console table that fits perfectly into a wall niche, one that needs to follow the shape of a curved wall, or maybe stand behind some oddly shaped sofa, all this is possible with concrete console tables.
Finding the Purpose for your Cement Console Table
The beauty of a concrete console table is its versatility. Because of its unique shape it can serve you in many places through the house, once you get bored with having it in one location, simply move and enjoy it somewhere else, can you do that with your coffee table? I didn’t think so…
One of the most common console table destinations is the entry hall of a home. It will hold the keys, mail, your cellphone, family pictures, and everything else thrown at it. It may also just sit there under a mirror without any particular purpose, other than just being noticed.
Have any empty wall section in a room? One carefully designed concrete console table can make that wall section and an entire room very special. The console can serve as a stand for your family photos, , a precious piece of art, or become a piece of art on its own – being made from concrete makes it extremely unique.
How about moving the concrete console table to your master bedroom and use it to put some flower pots on it. The console could be used to hold a mirror, makeup, combs and brushes, and again it can complement the décor of the bedroom just by being there.
House kitchen is another place from the console table to show its beauty, which of course would depend on the console’s design. For example, a larger console with a thick / narrow butcher block top could serve as an island in smaller kitchens, just some extra space with a character.
Let’s move outside and put one concrete console table next to a grill, that extra, great looking space will have plenty of use when the next party begins.
An office, lobby or waiting area, gallery, art place, jewelry store – they can all find use for a concrete console.
As you can see, a concrete console table, unlike other types of tables, can be used virtually everywhere in your house’s interior exterior, or workplace.
My Concrete Console Table series start with three, slightly different console table designs. Although the concept is based on a plain console table, by creating a gap in the concrete console legs and top surface, and then integrating metal bars into it, the result is a very unique concrete table.
Even with significant weight of concrete, because of the table’s distinctive profile, its form remains very light in appearance. A concrete console table can be set against a wall in your hallway, support a TV, or sit as an accent piece under art pieces. It can also serve as a sofa table or concrete piece of furniture separating two lounge chairs.
As much as it is a perfect interior piece of furniture, this can be used as an outdoor concrete console table as well. For example, it can serve at your summer party as an outdoor buffet table.

Each concrete console table is handcrafted based on the specifications you provide while placing your order.
You’ll find 3 choices of concrete colors:
- Charcoal
- Gray
- White
Used integral concrete pigmentation ensures the most uniform color distribution, however, concrete has slight color variations and this may show in different sections of the console table. That’s the beauty of concrete.Â
There are also 3 choices of metal used between concrete sections:
- steel rods – it has a natural dark gray / charcoal color
- copper tubing with a natural shiny color or, if desired, aged / browned
- stainless steel tubing which can be brushed or smooth
All exposed metal accents of your cement console table are sealed to prevent reaction with oils, chemicals and / or elements, unless otherwise specified while ordering.
Concrete surfaces are sealed with 4 coats of high quality penetrating sealer (matte or semi-gloss finish).
One of the biggest advantages of ordering your concrete console table from Designs by Rudy is the opportunity to get the exact size you need. There are some size boundaries that cannot be changed, but in most cases you’ll get the width, height, and length that perfectly fit into your interior or exterior design.
A word of caution:
The concrete console tables are quite stable when undisturbed. However, the dimensions and shape (tall and narrow) make them susceptible of tipping over. Because we have absolutely no control over your environment and accidents do happen, we encourage you to always place the concrete console table with one side against a wall or other solid vertical surface and never stand on it / use it as a ladder.
The legs of the concrete console table can have their bottom surface finished with non-marking material to protect your floor from scratches. For some of the exterior applications this may not be necessary so please specify the finish of your floor surface when ordering.
